About For Snooker

Snooker balls come as a set of 22: 15 reds, 6 colours (yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, black) and the cue ball. They are 52.5 mm (2 1/16 inches) across and weigh about 142 grams — noticeably less than pool balls, which is why pool balls will not play on a snooker table and its pockets will not take them.

Aramith is the tournament standard: the Tournament Champion series used by World Snooker, and 1G for clubs. On a used set, check the cue ball first — it collects the most chalk and loses its gloss soonest; single balls can be bought separately, though the colour rarely matches after years. Club sets often come up when a venue closes, and that is the cheapest route to good balls. You will also need a snooker table and a snooker cue, and you can keep score in the online snooker counter.
