Transporting a slate-bed table (900–1400 lb for 8ft): $130–400 depending on distance and stairs. Installation with levelling: $150–300. Disassembly + transport + reassembly package: $400–800. A slate table must never be moved assembled — the 3-piece slate requires teardown and re-levelling.
How often should a billiard table be levelled?
Check the level every 6–12 months with regular play, and always after moving the table or changing the floor. Symptom of an unlevel table: the ball curves on a slow roll ("roll-off"). Levelling requires a machinist level (0.02 mm/m accuracy) and adjusting legs or slate shims — a job for a service technician.
