About Unique / Vintage
Vintage cues and equipment are a separate market: cues from the 1960s to 80s, tables from closed clubs, pre-war accessories and pieces the maker no longer produces. Here the price comes from rarity and history rather than condition.
The most sought after are Balabushka, Szamboti, Tad and early Meucci cues, pre-war English cues with a real splice, and Riley and Thurston tables with cast-iron frames. Three things matter when buying a rare piece: proof of authorship (signature, serial number, papers), originality of the parts — a replaced shaft can halve the value — and the state of the wood. Restoration is handled by the workshops in cue service. Related sections are autographed items and books and video.
