About Table Covers
A billiard table cover is the cheapest thing that extends the life of the cloth. Dust, sunlight and spilled drinks do more damage than a thousand frames, and recovering a table costs many times more than a cover.
There are three kinds. A light fabric cover keeps dust off and is enough at home. A PVC or coated version is waterproof and makes sense wherever someone will put a glass on the table. Rigid tops turn the table into a table-tennis surface or a conference desk — popular in small flats. Size is matched to the table: 7ft, 8ft, 9ft or full-size snooker, with the cover cut larger by the height of the cushions. See also cloths, table parts and billiard tables.
