About Cases

A case protects the cue from warping, moisture and knocks in the car boot, and with a 350 EUR shaft it is insurance, not an expense. The 2×4 label says how many butts and shafts it holds (two butts, four shafts). The most listed are hard cases by Predator Roadline and Urbain, Mezz MO, Meucci, Peri and Instroke, plus soft 1×1 and 1×2 tubes for a single cue. Cue backpacks are more comfortable on a train than suitcases.

For a club a tube for 15–30 EUR is enough; for tournaments with a playing, break and jump cue you need a 3×5 or 4×6 case. A used premium case usually has a few scratches and half the new price. Check the latches, strap and tube lining. What else belongs in the bag is covered in the guide billiard accessories for every budget.
