About Taom
Taom Billiards from Finland made its name with chalk that leaves no marks on balls or cloth. Taom Soft and Pyro are the choice of most World Snooker Tour players, and the 2.0 and V10 versions have crossed over to pool. Plus Taom layered tips and chalkers. FAQ — Taom
Taom or Kamui?
Both are premium chalks. Taom is "drier" and does not dirty the balls, which is why it dominates snooker, where chalk kicks are a plague. Kamui 0.98 stays on the tip longer and is chosen more often by pool players. In practice it is preference; both work.
Why is Taom chalk expensive?
A cube costs 15–26 EUR but lasts 6–12 months because you chalk less often. The real cost is a euro or two a month in exchange for fewer miscues and clean cloth.
Taom Soft or Pyro?
Pyro is harder and stays on the tip longer; Soft gives slightly more grip on hard spin shots. Snooker players lean to Pyro, pool players to Soft or 2.0. The difference is subtle.
